The Martini church in Franeker was built in the 2nd half of the 14th century and is the only medieval church in Friesland with an ambulatory.
The church was originally dedicated to Martin’s tours. There have been many activities in the church throughout history
Some of these are: sacramental acts, church services, markets, the university auditorium, concerts and student promotions.
May 1 to October 1, the church is open Monday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Admission is free, but a voluntary donation to the church is appreciated.
